And the cobalts they come in?
Recalls aside. I know about those.
Does oppo have any opinions or advice about the strange world associated with ownership?
I have the chance to snag one on the cheap and am wondering what the touch points are for a 2006 with approximately 95k miles on it.
Part of me says go for it.
Part of me isn't 19.

I wouldn't personally. That recall makes me not want a Cobalt.

With the recent recalls, you should probably avoid a cobalt.

These are decently fast, nice driving cars that everybody overlooked because they say "Cobalt" on the back.

I have a 2008 LNF Turbo...
The LSJ is a great engine, its strong and well built. Loves to be pushed. Also those are the wrong seats for the car......So hop on it ASAP! Those are the LNF seats and they are super comfy. Ask if it has the G85 Pacage as well.....
I can help in any way posible if you have issues.
The cars are great for daily use, as long as you keep things low key on the car.

The turbo cars were miles better. If you really want one get a turbo model.

Did my reply dissapeer?
I'd get on it.
Ask if it has a G85 Package, the only thing needed is plugs at 100k.
Flush the trans every 15k if you are anal about maintenance.
It will run forever, some have 300+k miles on the GM stage 2 tune.

I've heard the supercharged ones have unreasonably heavy flywheels, that make them feel super not revvy. Perhaps someone who's driven one can either verify this or call me out for making up BS?
I like em though. But I also can't help but feel like you'll wish you'd bought the turbo'd version after a while.

Exactly why I was so persistent to get my 2008 LNF... haha

The Turbo models are shitty......They don't make as much power modded as the SC models do, and the Turbo model is nothing but problems, everyone blows up the engine at around 80k miles.

The Turbo model is a mistake.....to be honest.
And they aren't meant to be revvy. With a tune it hepls, its usually the TB that makes it like that though Not the Flywheel.

From what I've heard second and third handed, go for the turbo model because I heard GM helped lessen the torque-steer issues the S/C cars have.

I hadn't heard that about the turbos. It could be true. It makes me wonder if it is the people buying them or the car itself. I will argue that "modded" cars are different. I'm sure you can send either engine into absurd HP numbers so that makes the argument for either side silly. The launch control and no-lift shifting are pretty damn cool, if you ask me.

The NLS and LAunchcontrol are fun as hell.
But with the HP numbers, the LSJ (Supercharged) is capable of more power.... 890whp....
The highest powered Turbo LNF is 715WHP as far as I know....
The fuel system is what holds the LNF back.....its direct inejection and a shitty system.

I would think if you were shooting for an 800hp FWD car, you would find a way around a shitty fuel system. Either way though, most people aren't. I'm pretty sure something like 400hp would be more than enough in something like this. My opinion, obviously.

I'm at 300whpish and 400wftlbs, it is sufficient.....Enough isn't the word.
But they can't really work around it without getting a custom made intake manifold and rewiring half the car....Too much work for good HP numbers haha
Look up the Cobalt from hell on youtube.....650whp and it moves like crazy.

My dad had the Saturn version, it was fast as hell and you can get a tune straight from GM, but it has a 2000's GM interior so be weary of that. Make sure you get one with the Recaro's and an LSD
